Legal
Terms of Service
Last updated 30 July 2026. Draft for soft launch — confirm with counsel before relying on this as final legal wording.
1. The service
keymotion.ai provides AI-assisted motion design tools: templates, prompt-based generation, video export, editable project-file export, and Reconstruct (video → editable project). Features and tiers may change. Pro features require a paid plan or soft-launch entitlement.
2. Accounts and eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract. You are responsible for activity under your entitlement or account. Soft-launch access may use a signed cookie or waitlist invitation rather than a full account.
3. Acceptable use
You may not use the service to infringe intellectual property, violate privacy, engage in illegal activity, abuse or overload the service, or attempt to bypass entitlement gates. We may suspend or refuse features (including Reconstruct) for abuse.
4. Reconstruct — ownership warranty and indemnity
Reconstruct rebuilds an uploaded clip as editable layers and keyframes. The output may be a derivative of that upload. By using Reconstruct you warrant that you own the upload, or have an explicit license or client authorization to process it for reconstruction, and that your use complies with the Reconstruct usage policy.
You must not upload third-party copyrighted material without rights, including competitor demos or arbitrary web clips uploaded solely to clone someone else's work. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless keymotion.ai and its operators from claims, damages, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your Reconstruct uploads or outputs, or from breach of this warranty.
Before each upload you must confirm the ownership attestation shown on the Reconstruct page. Uploads without attestation are refused.
5. Your content and outputs
As between you and keymotion.ai, you retain rights in content you upload and in project files you generate, subject to third-party rights in any material you did not create. You grant us a limited license to process uploads and project data solely to provide the service (including sending frames to subprocessors such as our AI model provider). We do not claim ownership of your motion projects.
6. AI and export disclaimer
Generations and Reconstruct outputs are assistive starting points. Project-file exports may require cleanup in After Effects, Premiere, or Resolve. We do not warrant pixel-identical parity with the browser preview or fitness for a particular client deliverable.
7. Billing
Paid plans, if offered, renew according to the checkout terms shown at purchase. Studio and other deferred tiers are not sold until we say so on the pricing page. Taxes may apply.
8. Disclaimer and limitation
The service is provided "as is" to the fullest extent permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits or data. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of £100 or the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
9. Copyright notices
Rights holders may send notices under our copyright notice process.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date above will change. Continued use after posting means you accept the update. Contact: legal@keymotion.ai.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protections require otherwise. Counsel should confirm this choice before scale.
